Just what I wanted. Took a chance on the color and it is an oil rubbed bronze that matches well. Don't see the Olde World finish aspect, but it is heavy and doors work well.
I am thoroughly satisified with my fireplace screen. It fits perfectly and is a great match with my fireplace which is constructed of off-white brick with three black mantles. It is a simple, yet functional screen, exactly what I was looking for. I have to add that the delivery was within five days! Thank you so much Hayneedle and keep up with the great products!
Very easy to add the legs and the magnets that hold the screen shut were a bonus that was not included in the description, The pull knobs do not get hot and that was not included in the product description either. All around, I love this addition to my fireplace! Can't say so much good about customer service or the catalog descriptions of the products. When you call to ask, the act like you are bothering them and they simply read back to you what was in the book like you are too dumb to read it yourself!! If you are going to order something, order something small because they send you a 50% off coupon after your first order! I called and tried to apply it to my screen order and they refused.
After getting off to a shaky start, the first one sent was the wrong item, they quickly sent the correct model and we were able to put it up in about 15 min. Fit and finish is excellent we did make a slight modification and did not install the back feet in order to place the unit right up against the fireplace. We use electric logs and wanted the opening as close as possible. A quick little bend of the front feet and it was perfect.
Can't say enough about first of all the customer service. I called first as I wanted to ensure it would fit correctly. The gentleman on the phone was extremely well informed, patient, and went through every detail with me. Ultimately I made the purchase online, put it together with minimal hassle (some folks mentioned a balance or leveling issue, I did not have this problem and I think it comes down to understanding basic installations and ensuring you don't tighten bolts until you pre-fit to ensure level). Ultimately great buy for the money.
Would like to have seen it with the ability to attatch to the fireplace rather than just sit in front of it. I made one myself, but it took some time
Fits flush against brick, so my cats can't jump inthe ashes. Legs required work to sit level. Doors nice and wide for ease of inserting wood without having to remove screen for accessability.
Only 1 problem it was missing one of the magnets on the bottom to hold the door closed
The welds aren't done well or covered well. There is a gap between the doors that allows sparks to fly through. The knobs on the doors don't line up making the doors look like they're hanging crooked on their hinges. I would recommend this only because it's sooooo much better than the screen that came with the fireplace. P.S. Plus, I received more than one inquiry from you regarding my satisfaction. Not a peep from the fireplace manufacturer or installer.
This fireplace screen is terrible quality. The first one came broken at one hinge. The return/replace call was very long and at one point I was disconnected and had to call back and start again!! The second one came and the door were hung unevenly. Not only that, but the height measurement they give inline does not account for the sides that curve down. Would not buy this product!!
